Without a doubt... The death of my best friend, my brother.
He had been DF's a few years earlier for sexual misconduct. He knew that he was dying from AIDS so he had plenty of time to examine his life and modify his conduct to the WTS standards. He had moved out of state and just prior to his death asked for some of the Local elders to come discuss his re-instatement with him.... After a couple of weeks, two Elders showed up and spent all of 15 minutes with him.... The bastards didn't even pray with him. He was completely repentant and living a spiritual life but all they could say was that since they were not the ones who had DF'd him. He would need to get with the Elders at the original KH (several states away.)
Needless to say, my brother, probably the kindest person that I ever knew, never once waivered in his faith in God and in Jesus' ransom sacrifice, died feeling like he had no hope in the resurrection. because he was not part of Jehovah's organization.
There are MANY other instances that come to mind but none compare to this.... The majority of the moments that still haunt me have one common thread. IMHO The WT society has VERY little capacity for genuine love. They really show who they are by their friut.

What incident marked you most as a JW?
by JH ini remember once in the field service, a ms of about 70 years old, former elder, was in the field service with a brother and he drove him straight home even before going out in the field service.
he had an argument with that brother in the car and i don't know exactly what it was about, but i know that this brother placed lots of importance in jesus unlike most jw's and i think this brother was talking too much about jesus door to door, and this old ms knew about this and told him off, but this brother didn't want to change his style, so he was driven straight home.. gee, i found that childish.. this jw that was driven home, belonged to another religion prior, and he never did accept to put jesus on the back burner.
i wonder why he became a jw?

Our Lawsuit against the WTS
by gordon d incan anyone share their input (stupid question) on the possibilties of former jw's or df'd dubs filing a personal or class action lawsuit against the wts or it's local congregations based upon defamation of character.
in some states there is the provision of a slander/libel suit based upon "malicious use of truthful information".
i would think that some precidence has been established by similar suits against other social and religious groups.

Who I really am
by JWdaughter inthis is so stupid, but yesterday i was shopping and i saw this wild blouse and i thought-if i could dress how i really wanted to, i would buy that blouse.

the entire ass-embly was dealing with materialism or higher education; apparantly one leads to the other.
why cant the wts realize that higher education is not just a means to get rich or ahead in this system, but a means to have a career outside of janitorial work?

based upon the dimensions given in the bible, the new jerusalem is pretty big.
if only 144,000 actually get to go inside and live there, that would mean that each room is more than 22,000 cubic miles in volume!!!

That's it!... everytime I think that I've come up with something original, I just find out that it's already been run into the ground.... I suppose a little more listening and a little less talking,on my part, might be a stroke of wisdom. I didn't even know that the WTS had changed the policy on DF announcements.
So much for my aspirations of being the greatest, wisest, most loved contributor here (you-bunch-of-been-there-done-that-kill-joys) I guess I'll have to be content with just being the most well-hung.....

Most exciting part? I don't know... for me, it was pretty exciting to actually get to the bottom of one of those rock-hard (tasteless) ice cream cups after several hours of tryng to eat with that crappy, little, wooden paddle.
